Caring for silver, plated pieces and the rest of the range
Every EnSage piece is handmade, so color and shape vary slightly. We hope you enjoy those small differences.
Which care applies to your piece
Most of our jewelry is 925 silver with an oxidized finish. A few pieces are not solid 925: some brooches, hair pieces, hair ties and the bolo tie are silver-plated, and the Oasis Guardian Necklace is not solid 925. If you are not sure, check the Materials line on the product page.
925 silver and oxidized finish
We do not seal oxidized pieces with a protective coating, so they keep changing with wear. If a piece is left unworn it can darken; that is natural for silver. Please skip silver-cleaning liquids and ultrasonic cleaners. A soft cloth is the gentlest way to freshen a piece. A silver polishing cloth will also lighten the dark oxidized detail, so use it only where you want that.
Plated pieces (brooches, hair pieces, hair ties, bolo tie)
Silver plating is a thin layer over another metal, and it can wear with friction. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing and store these pieces dry. Please avoid silver polish, silver-cleaning liquids and ultrasonic cleaners, and keep them away from chemicals, hot springs and long water exposure.
Oasis Guardian Necklace and other stone pieces
The Oasis Guardian Necklace is not solid 925. Wipe it with a soft dry cloth, store it dry and keep it away from harsh chemicals, hot springs and prolonged water exposure. For other stone pieces, a gentle approach is best: keep them dry and away from strong chemicals.
Cords, elastic bands and bags
Leather cords, elastic bands and fabric bags are not metal. Keep them dry and away from strong chemicals, sun and heat. If you are unsure how to care for a specific piece, please contact us.
Everyday care
- Keep away from perfume, shower gel, hair spray and other chemicals.
- Avoid direct sun, extreme heat or cold, and humid places.
- Take jewelry off before sleeping, bathing, showering, swimming, exercise or housework.
- Wipe with a soft cloth after wearing.
